This was one of our projects for Engineering last quarter. We went on a website called Instructables and looked for projects that would be Interesting, Safe, and Doable. We could pretty much choose whatever we wanted.
I chose to do a cardboard gramaphone speaker. I thought this was probably the best option for me because I had a lot of cardboard at home, and I enjoy music so it could be useful. This project represents the 21st century self directional skill. I had to figure almost everything out on my own. I had to make sure I had the supplies for it and make sure it was safe. I built the entire thing on my own and if I wasn't sure what to do I had to look up something to help. It was a little challenging to get all the parts right. I was confused for a while on how to make all the parts fit together but eventually managed to figure it out. The project was also great because we got to get off the computers. If I could do the project over again I would work more on getting it to play louder. I would also try to make it look nicer. I think the next time I do one of these projects I should spend more time on detail. |
