Subject: Spanish
Teacher: Proje Ají This was a two person project. We had to choose a Spanish speaking country and then find an exchange program that interested us located in that country. My project partner, Ashlyn, and I chose an exchange program in Puerto Rico that focused around helping with the recent hurricane, such as helping families build new homes or rebuild their homes. It also immerses you in Puerto Rican culture by visiting places like Old San Juan and other historical areas. We made a google slides presentation and had to present everything all in Spanish. One of the 21st century skills that relates to this project is the Interpersonal Skill. Ashlyn and I had to figure out when we were going to be able to work on this project together, and since we both had busy schedules that was a little difficult but we managed to get it all done on time and got a pretty good grade on it. We also had to make sure who was presenting what parts and that both of us knew the spanish we needed in order to present it. Something difficult about this project was having to write and say everything in Spanish with only what we learned because some of the words I wanted to use were stuff I hadn’t learned yet, so that was especially challenging. Although, I was able to figure it out in the end and I’m proud of the way we presented it considering we haven’t had to do anything exactly like that before. It does relate a lot to what I’ve learned in Spanish 1, and for if I ever travel, it did improve my ability to actually speak Spanish a little more. |
